Southern California Drug Rehabilitation
Centers
Southern California drug rehabilitation
centers come in a variety of sizes, techniques and costs but
drug rehabilitation centers all have the common goal of trying
to keep the drug user from using drugs. Drug rehabilitation
centers want their clients to become and stay sober and frankly
some are more effective than others. Some drug rehabilitation
centers are more expensive than others as well and cost and
effectiveness do not always go hand in hand. Puente House
Recovery Services has been running one of these low-cost,
effective drug rehabilitation centers for the last 10 years.
Very few drug rehabilitation centers have our successful track
record of treating addicts and we would like to share some
of the reasons why.
Drug rehabilitation centers have changed
considerably over the past 30 years. From virtually unheard
of to thousands throughout the States, drug rehabilitation
centers have become part of the managed health care machine.
Focusing drug rehabilitation centers on profit rather than
resulting recovery has diluted many programs and made them
less effective than they should be. Puente House Recovery
Services avoids these problems but not being part of the corporate
money machine. Our Live-in centers have been independently
operated for the last 10 years and this freedom has allowed
us to focus on the principles most dear to real recovery from
drugs. Structure and action are two of the most important
elements of our program and we have found that it doesn't
require a lot of money to live and learn these principles.
Another element that Puente House Recovery
Services requires more than other many programs is time. One
of the disastrous side-effects of insurance controlled drug
rehabilitation centers is the lack of time spent on the client.
Despite study after study showing that long term inpatient
care is the most effective method available today many treatment
centers continue to attempt 21 day treatment plans that move
the client through the process too quickly. Our Live-In facilities
offer our clients the time needed to learn the skills needed
to live productively without drugs or alcohol.
Time, we have found, is a crucial factor
to successful recovery. Most clients have been doing drugs
for several years and sometimes decades before seeking treatment.
It is not realistic to expect to be able to change behaviors,
attitudes and coping mechanisms within a month. Drug addiction
is a disease and has a treatment but nothing works overnight.
Studies by the National Institute on Drug Abuse a department
of the U.S. Department of Health make the obvious connection
that the more treatment an addict receives the better the
results. Long term treatment allows for the patient to re-socialize
into society from which he or she has been separated from
through drug abuse. Highly structured programs are especially
effective with clients who have a long history of drug dependence
and have had social and legal problems as a result. Puente
House, located in southern California, sober living offers
one of the few long term solutions that can create a solid
foundation for long-term sobriety. Give us a call today.
